“Well its obvious you’re going to do what you want to do anyway,” she hissed.
Still thinking of dancing he is confused, wondering how a simple request has gone so wrong.
She stares at him coldly. Feeling panic he reaches for her humming, ‘dance with me.’ His mind preoccupied with moving.
Her furrowed brow slowly softens. She realizes she has been sweating. Her heart racing along with her thoughts. “Dance with me,” he sings. “Dance with me.”
It is a blues song. A familiar rhythm. She is eased and settles into his arms. His hips are swaying. Before she knows it her feet are in step.
‘Like the blues, baby,” he hums in her ear. She moves in closer.
“Dance with me like the blues.”
Relieved he sweeps her away in a syncopation only they have memorized.
That was very beautiful!
