mountains remind me
images i once scribbled on a paper table cloth
so far away from ex-forever and swanky restaurants
i think on impossibilities
station wagons with propeller jets
$1.50 school for girls just like me
fluffy softness of a formerly frozen jelly sandwich
melting in my mouth and the apple he
balances perfectly on his nose for 5, 4, 3…
a screech and a shirk brings us on the
brink of a stop my heart jumps
his head bobs smoothly we sail
catching our breath
the wind at our backs
eyes focus on the goal
home

Lovely use of language.
thank you. i took the prompt from another blogger who challenged her followers to write about a vacation without giving away that it was a vacation you were writing about…it was an interesting challenge. thanks for reading.
